  1. How's our hockey team? We're stomping Switzerland right now, but I don't know how good we are relative to those other cold countries.

  2. Well the three groups were based off the pre Olympic hockey rankings. The United States was ranked #6 heading into the Olympics but this is a very young team so it is kind of hard to get an idea. It is encouraging to see them up on Switzerland, the Pre-O #7 team, like this as it leaves me thinking that we may be better than our ranking. The Swiss finished #6 in the 2006 Olympics and has 2 NHL Players on its roster. As far as the Overall look at the Olympics are chances are going to ride on the play of Goalie Ryan Miller, one of the best in the NHL, though he ended the Pre Olympic break in a bit of a slump. If he can regain his form he can be near dominant at times. This team is also really fast and physical sporting 3 of the top ten hitters (not fighters) in the NHL. as far as overall I like to think we are better than the Czech Republic and Finland but we are going to have to be at the top of our game to compete with Canada (Joe Crosby, Patrick Marleau, Joe Thornton, and G Martin Brodeur), Russia (ALEXANDER OVECHKIN), and Sweden (Nicklaus Backstrom, Henrik Sedin, Peter Forsberg, and Henrik Zetterberg). If this team can get used to each other (composed entirely of NHL Players who've been together as Team USA for 1 day) in a hurry than I like to think that they have a shot at the Bronze. Maybe more if they can go out and impress some people.

    Thanks for reading
