Sunday March 7th Daily Picks.....

Hey there guys,
Well yesterday wasn't my best day, actually it was pretty bad, as I went 2-3 as Alabama took out rival Auburn by 12 behind Mikhail Torrance's double double (13pts 12rb, also lead team in asst with 6), South Carolina upset Vanderbilt on Senior Day in Nashville behind Devan Downey's ridiculous 2nd half where he scored most of his 26 points, Ole Miss had yet another 2nd half come from behind victory as they grab the #2 spot in the Western Divison and a bye in the Conference tournament, LSU won their 2nd conference game over Georgia despite Trey Thompkins 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 assists, all of which lead his team, and finally Tennessee destroyed Mississippi State in a game that the Bulldogs desperately needed to win, and in the NBA I went 6-3 as Dwayne Wade knocked down 38 points and 10 assists as the Heat took out the Hawks by 6, Derrick Rose' 34 points were not enough as the Bulls lost to the Dalls Mavericks 122-116, and Milwaukee upset Cleveland 92-85 despite Cav Newcomer F Antwan Jamison's 30 points and 11 rebounds, and in the NHL I went 6-4 as Phoenix shut out Anaheim 4- behind Goalie Ilya Bryzgalov's 32 saves, the Washington Capitals did the same against the NY Rangers winning 2-0 as their Goalie Jose Theodore had 29 saves, and finally the Avalanche destroyed the Blues 7-3 behind the hat trick of Chris Stewart. Today I don't have much thoughts today but I am going to give a preview into today's NBA Finals rematch between the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers in today's Picks. There is also another good game today in the NBA as Portland heads over to Denver in a nice battle between playoff contenders, as Portland tries to keep up their 3 game winning streak, in the SEC Florida heads over to Kentucky as Senior day plays out for the freshman heavy Wildcats, in the regular season finale of the SEC, and in the NHL there are some good games including NBCs NHL Game of the Week as Detroit heads to Chicago, as the Red Wings try to hold on to their 1 point lead on that final playoff spot in the Western division, and the Canadians and the Ducks battle out in Anaheim. Should be fun. Hope you enjoy.

My Picks.....

SEC Men's Basketball

Florida 20-10 (9-6) @ #3/#3 Kentucky 28-2 (13-2)
11:00 AM
CBS
Line: Kent -11.5

Players to Watch: Kent G John Wall 17.0ppg 6.2apg 1.9spg, Kent F DeMarcus Cousins 15.9ppg 10.1rpg 1.8bpg, Kent F Patrick Patterson 15.0ppg 7.6rpg 1.3bpg, Flo G Erving Walker 12.7ppg 5.0apg 1.5spg, Flo F Alex Tyus 11.8ppg 7.0rpg 1.0bpg

Preview: Why this is flashy name this really does not mean much for Kentucky. They have their #1 seed in the conference tournament, they pretty much have a #1 Seed in the NCAA Tournament. This is Senior night for a team filled with underclassmen. This game only means something to Florida who needs a win if they want to have a good chance of making the ncaa tournament. They are losers of their last two with losses on the road at Georgia and at home against Vanderbilt. This is going to be an extremely tough environment to play in and while I think it will be close at first I don't see the Gators coming out on top as Rupp is going to be jumping.

Kentucky by 17

NBA

*NBA Game of the Day*
Los Angeles Lakers 46-17 @ Orlando Magic 43-20
1:30 PM
ABC
Line: Orl -2

Players to Watch: LAL G Kobe Bryant 27.6ppg 4.8apg 1.7spg, LAL F Lamar Odom 10.3ppg 9.8rpg 0.8bpg, LAL F Pau Gasol 16.9ppg 11.2rpg 1.7bpg, LAL F Andrew Bynum 14.9ppg 8.3rpg 1.4bpg, Orl C Dwight Howard 18.6ppg 13.2rpg 2.8bpg

Preview: I have been looking forward to this game ever since I saw it on the schedule. Orlando doesn't have the star power that LA has but they do play great team basketball and in Orlando on national TV you know that crowd is going to be huge. Howard hasn't been playing his best recently but the team keeps winning because other players have been stepping up, like Vince Carter, Matt Barnes, and Marcin Gortat. Los Angeles is on a bit of a slump as far as they are concerned having only won 5 of their last 10 while Orlando is on a roll having won 4 in a row. I like the Magic at home today.
