#FullCourtPress SEC Tournament Round 1 preview

Hey there guys,

I really should be studying for an Ethics midterm, but I'm confident enough in my scrounging abilities to give all 32 of my consistent readers (Hi mom) a quick preview into the first round of the SEC tournament that begins in a half hour. Timing is everything right?

Without further adieu....

#9 Arkansas (18-13) vs. #8 LSU (17-13)
Line: LSU -2
Preview: Honestly, It's pointless in previewing this game considering the winner faces the best team in the country in the second round, Kentucky. But I guess I'll give y'all a quick look for shiggles. Arkansas enters this game colder than ice, having lost nine of their last 10. That said, LSU isn't exactly entering the conference tourney on a hot streak. They have lost three in a row, including two BAD losses to Ole Miss (by 24) and the #10 seed Auburn (by 15). LSU has the advantage in the post, but in both games have gotten into serious foul trouble. I like for the Razorbacks to take this one.

#12 South Carolina (10-20) vs. #5 Alabama (20-10)
Line: Alabama -9
Preview: Look this game is going to appear close because South Carolina has made it a habit of giving teams hell all season long, I mean just look at their upset of the Tide earlier in the season. However, this Alabama team HAS to win this one to assure that they stay in Tourney. I mean HAS to win this one. Even in an awful bubble year, this one could end it for the Tide. Their talent and strong defensive play wins this one for them, but not after a scare.

#10 Auburn (15-15) vs. #7 Ole Miss (18-12)
Line: Ole Miss -4
Preview: Andy Kennedy, thank the basketball Gods and do not scoff at their offering of faith. They apparently want you to stick around in Oxford. All you have to do is win. For whatever reason, Kennedy has struggled against the Tigers in his career. I can't figure out why and I do this instead of pay attention in class. Call it blind faith but I like the post combination of Murphy Holloway, who has been on fire, combined with Reggie Buckner to be the difference. The Rebels need this win in a bad way.

#11 Georgia (14-16) vs. #6 Mississippi State (21-10)
Line: MSU -5
Preview: Which Mississippi State team is going to show up? The top 15 team, filled with professional talent and good coaching? Or the slew of headcases that have caused this team to limp to the finish line, losing five of their last seven, including an overtime loss to Georgia. I don't think lightning strikes twice, but I don't expect State to take this one easily. There is just too much talent for this team to fall this early.

Check back tomorrow morning after I recover from my hangover for tomorrow's predictions.
