#FullCourtPress NBA Roundup 3/1

Hey there guys,

Welcome to March. Enjoy it. According to the Aztecs it'll be your last. Personally I plan to spend this month watching basketball, playing Mass Effect 3 (five days!) and inexplicably raising my arm up and down in a rhythmic manner to the song "Love is Gone" at Ole Miss baseball games.

Oh, and hoping and praying that the Magic get SOMETHING for Dwight Howard.

The clock's ticking.

 Thursday's Games

Thunder (27-7) at Magic (22-13)
Playoffs: Thunder (West #1); Magic (East #5)
Line: Thunder -1
Preview: The biased fan inside of me believes that we have a legitimate shot in this game. The realist is already looking for the Johnny Walker I keep hidden in the office. The match-ups aren't great for the Magic. Kendrick Perkins has a long history of giving Dwight Howard fits. Though Howard is playing to impress a potential suitor I don't expect a 20-20 from him. The best hope for the Magic is that Ryan Anderson has another double-double type of night. Serge Ibaka is a great defender for a Power 4, but as Dirk Nowitzki showed in the playoffs he can struggle with long-range shooters. The Magic are also going to need a good game from the combination of Richardson/Reddick. Harden is a great bench player, but he doesn't start for a reason. If J-Rich and J.J. can get an offensive game working the Magic can have success. I still think the Thunder are going to take this one.

Timberwolves (18-18) at Suns (14-20)
Playoffs: T-Wolves (West -1); Suns (West -4)
Line: Suns -3.5
Preview: The Suns are the favorite, but I'm not buying it. Kevin Love recovering from the flu is still a game changer. With Derrick Williams on the rise, Ridnour sliding over to the 2 to make room for Rubio, and Nikola Pekovic. If Kevin Love is on the court, the Suns are going to have to account for him. The Suns are...not. Yeah. Minny on the road.

Clippers (20-12) at Kings (12-22)
Playoffs: Clippers (West #3); Kings (No)
Line: Clippers -3.5
Preview: Has anyone had trouble closing games this season like the Clippers? This is going to be a growing concern as the season comes along. And this is not a team you want to struggle against. The Kings are not a playoff team, but they are not a team to take lightly. Tyreke Evans and DeMarcus Cousins are two very powerful players growing into their roles and have the Kings on a two-game winstreak. The Clippers have lost three of four. I'm calling for the upset tonight.

Heat (27-7) at Trail Blazers (18-17)
Playoffs: Heat (East #1); Blazers (West -1/2
Line: Heat -4.5
Preview: I wish I could talk about this game more. I wish I could say that having LaMarcus Aldridge and Gerald Wallace would make a difference. But I'm not going to bother. They'll keep it close, but the Heat are playing too, too well right now.
