Hey there guys,
Well yesterday was a solid day for me as far as MLB goes in that I went 10-5 (8-7 ATS) missing on a few as the Braves offense finally woke up, Jose Guillen homered in his 4th consecutive game and the Royals upset the Tigers, the Angels actually looked like the team I thought they would as they took out the Yankees in New York, the Red Sox put up 3 in the 8th as they took out the Twins at Target Field, and Milton Bradley is starting to wake up as he has played a major part in Seattle's back to back wins over the A's the past couple of days. In the NHL the 4 teams I picked to win the series all lost (go figure) as the Flyers continued to have their way with the Devils, defeating them for the 6th time this season 2-1, the inconsistent Penguins continued to be just that as they lost the opener at home 5-4 to Ottawa, San Jose, the Western Conference's #1 Overall seed continues to struggle in the playoffs as they lose to Colorado at home 2-1, and the Coyotes road 3 power play goals to a 3-2 over Detroit. I am not going to be writing much else, just the picks, as I have a lot to do today and I am hurrying to finish the NFL Draft Position Rankings. Hope you guys enjoy.

Think there'll be a triple crown winner this year?
ReplyDeleteIf you're talking Hitting, well that is one of the hardest things in any sport to accomplish, with the last winner being Carl Yastremski (sp?) back in '67, but I think if there are any contenders Albert Pujols has to be at the top of the list. Derek Lee I think is also a very good candidate with the Cubs. If you want 3 dark horse candidates than I say keep an eye on Adam Lind with the Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers Miguel Cabrera, and Brewers LF Ryan Braun.
ReplyDeleteIf you meant Pitching, that has happened more frequently as Johan Santan won in 2006, and Jake Peavy in 2007. I would have to say off the top of my head that the 3 best candidates this season are Roy Halladay of the Phillies, and Tim Lincecum of the Giants. I wouldn't be surprised to see Seattle's Felix Hernandez or St. Louis' Adam Wainwright pull it off either. Zach Greinke has Major League stuff, and while he wins even though he plays for the Royals, I still see that hurting him in his chances. Even though he has a slow start a name that you might want to keep an eye on is Javier Vazquez with the Yankees. He was quietly one of the best pitchers in Baseball last year with Atlanta and now he has the offensive firepower behind him for the wins and if he can find his stuff he might be able to pull it off.
If you're talking horse racing I have no idea haha
Hope that helped.
