Hey there guys,
Picking Major League Baseball is one of the hardest things to do, so I'm going to take a shot doing just that this summer. Starting today. Hopefully, earlier so you can actually ignore my advice in time for the game.
In the near future I'm going to begin to post my SEC previews, team by team. They're going to be long and hopefully informative.
As always, you are free to tell me why I'm wrong, and I'm free to not care. Enjoy!
Today's Pick
Yankees (-172) over Blue Jays
I am by no means a Yankees fan. In fact, for all I care they can fold and never return and I would happily forget their existence. Now that I've got that out of the way they are probably the best team in baseball and are coming off a strong start after the All-Star break taking two of three from the Angels. Yes, Phil Hughes gives a lot of home runs, 19 to be exact, and the Blue Jays are a pretty powerful team, just watch Joey Bats and Edwin Encarnacion, who has played so well this season the Blue Jays rewarded him with a 3-year $27 million extension. But Hughes hasn't allowed a homer in his last three starts, and four of his last five (allowed 4 HR to Atl on 6/20). The Yankees are pretty solid at home, and Henderson Alvarez struggled in his last start vs. KC. Look for the Yankees to outscore the Blue Birds in what should be the Home-run Derby 2.0. Yanks by 2 (6-4)
Four more solid picks:
- Tigers (-125) over Angels
- Reds (-140) over Diamondbacks
- Nationals (-110) over Marlins
- Padres (-125) over Astros
